Thank you for the wonderful words about St Francis. I was born 10/04 the feast day of St. Francis. Little did I know that later on in my life St.Francis would be instrumental in helping me to return to church and the sacraments. I'm 67 years old and have returned to church at Easter after 45 years of being away. My life was full of turmoil, darkness, doubt and despair. Thru all this...Godless, Lordless, and Motherless. I was able to pray to Blessed Francis. Thru Beloved Francis, My Lord and Savior directed me to the catheral where I live and I was blessed to know that the rector and fathers are Francisians,OFM, I am home and at peace. Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ. In Divine Friendship I am Blessed. Bob McGregor

I have witnessed (many, many, many times)that wherever St. Francis and St Anthony are honored - true and deep spirituality in Christ flourishes abundantly. As a lay person, all I have to do is go into any church and observe the level of devout commitment. Whether it be in religious participation or quite prayer. I'll guarantee you without a doubt. I will find a statue, painting or glass window of St Francis and St Anthony. Glory to God and blessings to those hearts that live in Our Lord.

ALL PRAISE IN THE HOLY TRINITY for giving us 800 years of Franciscan guidance, love, and charity. May the Holy Spirit bless us with many more vocations.

As a friar in an international community I have lost my original fervor in my vocation. Its the typical problem of lost of personal prayer, indifference to what I have freely choosen as my life commitment in religious life, ect. When I read your blog on the vocational discernment I was reminded of my commitment and how it had blossomed with ferver. I hope that others will find your message of 'seeing God, eye to eye' in a loving glance choose what is most life affirming for them.

Hi Fr. Mike,
I visited the Genesee Abbey and found it very peaceful and beautiful. Two weeks ago I visited Mt. Saviour monastery for the first time which is outside of Elmira, NY. If it wasn't for the wonders of the web I wouldn't have known about it. But by browsing the web I came across their website. The monastery visit was a blessed experience. I encourage anyone interested in making a retreat to do what you have done and visit some of the nearby monasteries. I also like the changes you made to the vocations website for the friars. It is less flashy than the previous display and I prefer the new look. Looking forward to reading more of your blogs.
